Officers can be seen apprehending several riders in the footage, captured on both bodycam and surveillance video. The department said the dangerous riding “will not be tolerated” and that officers will continue enforcing the law to keep downtown safe.
According to Fox 35 Orlando, several of the teens were detained and issued criminal citations, and some of the vehicles were towed after police determined they required registration but were not properly registered. Those detained or cited were released to their parents or guardians, the outlet reported.
A police spokesperson acknowledged the sheer size of the group made a full response difficult, saying officers took enforcement action “when it could be done safely.”
