The area is considered potentially dangerous because of exposed overlooks and steep drop-offs along the canyon’s edge. The risk of hypothermia increases as temperatures can also drop significantly after sunset. The low temperature on Tuesday was 18 degrees.

Officials are asking anyone in the area Monday evening to review photos or videos, noting that even background images could be of value in the search.

Anyone with information on Mr. Krishna’s whereabouts should contact the NPS tip line at (888) 653-0009.
