Welcome to Super Tuesday Central – PJ Media

We bring you live results from the contests every week during the primary season, and this week is epic. It’s Super Tuesday, which gets its name from the fact that so many states hold their primaries and caucuses on the same day. However, calling anything “super” this election cycle comes across as sarcastic.

There’s so much going on today that we’re dividing the results up into multiple articles. You’ll find links for the other articles below.

Here we’re going to focus on the Republican presidential elections. We have primaries in 14 states — Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennesee, Texas, Vermont, and Virginia — as well as a caucus in Utah. Even with so many contests tonight, we’re not expecting any surprises.

Super Tuesday looks to continue the Donald Trump Validation Tour, but the biggest question is how many delegates he’ll walk away with when the night is over. While most states are winner-take-all, some have more complex formulas for figuring out who gets how many delegates.

Editor’s Note: We are facing the most consequential election in our nation’s history. America won’t survive another four years of Democrats. Help PJ Media tell the truth about the 2024 election as the left-wing, mainstream media propagandists do all they can to support the Democrats.

One question does loom large over Super Tuesday, and it’s the question we keep finding ourselves asking every week: how long will Nikki Haley hold out? She has pledged to stay in for the long haul, but does she have the money to sustain what has become an increasingly futile effort to grab the nomination?

Beyond delegate math and the question of Nikki Haley’s staying power, we don’t expect anything earth-shattering to happen tonight. It’ll be interesting to see how quickly outlets call the races for Trump.

Here’s how the poll closings break down (all times are Eastern):

  • Polls in Vermont and Virginia will close at 7 p.m.
  • Polls in North Carolina will close at 7:30 p.m.
  • Polls in Alabama, Maine, Massachusetts, Oklahoma, and Tennessee will close at 8 p.m.
  • Polls in Texas will close between 8 and 9 p.m.
  • Polls in Arkansas will close at 8:30 p.m.
  • Polls in Colorado and Minnesota will close at 9 p.m.
  • Polls in Utah will close between 9 and 11 p.m. Fun fact: the Democrats have different poll hours in Utah and will close at 10 p.m. because — well, because they’re Democrats.
  • Polls in California will close at 11 p.m.
  • Polls in Alaska will close between 7 p.m. and midnight.
