Yesterday, I wrote about toxic empathy posing a dire threat to Western society. What makes this kind of empathy “toxic” is not that it is empathy, which is a characteristic that is necessary for the formation of a conscience, but rather that it is selective and, in many cases, unlimited.
People identified as deserving of empathy get infinite forgiveness for the most egregious actions, while those seen as “oppressors” deserve none at all and, in fact, should be punished and silenced for objecting to demands they submit to the will of the “oppressed.” It’s all based on an ever-changing and immensely complicated intersectional ladder of oppression, where points are assigned for various degrees of victimhood.
Sold to us as “kindness,” the result of this relentless focus on presumed victimhood and the need to correct the injustice that somebody is born black, or foreign, or female, or trans, or whatever the current hotness is in victimhood status, actually results in situations like this one. Please watch the video to get the story:

“He’s a regular. He usually punches.”
In just the past few months, we have seen a ton of cases of criminals who have been arrested dozens of times for terrible crimes finally escalating to murder, or illegal aliens who get arrested and released only to rape or murder innocents. Irina Zarutzka, you will recall, was murdered by a man who had cycled in and out of the criminal justice system for years, yet was free to just slit her throat unhindered.
The same prosecutors who bend over backward to enable the “oppressed” get enraged when the “oppressors” try to get the situation under control. Over the past year the murder rate is down 20%—to the lowest per-capita level in modern history—and fentanyl deaths have plummeted as well. It is no coincidence that this sudden and dramatic drop has happened as Trump has done what he can to crack down on crime, capture and deport illegal aliens, and has been attacking the cartels. Yet all this enrages the “empathetic,” because to them the criminals are “oppressed.”
Absolutely CHILLING. THIS is the Democrat party, folks.

I decided to write about this phenomenon yet again because of a specific case that I encountered in my feed. There has been almost no national attention, because this sort of thing is now commonplace. Fox gave it a few minutes of coverage, and there were a few hundred words written about it, but the case is so appalling and the result so disturbing that it bears more scrutiny by everyone.
I as I wrote earlier today, you can’t grasp how close we are to societal collapse due to the fundamental corruption of our elite and the pillars of civilization until you really understand what is happening to our country. Forget, for the moment, asking about WHY our elite would be doing this; absorb the fact that they ARE doing this.

INFURIATING: A savage thug who brutally beat a random stranger nearly to DEATH on a Chicago CTA Pink Line train—leaving the victim in a coma, with traumatic brain injury, broken ribs, fractured skull, and months in the hospital—WALKS FREE with ZERO prison time.
45-year-old Jesus Ramirez pleaded guilty to aggravated battery this week and was sentenced to two years in prison.
However, he received credit for more than a year spent on electronic monitoring pretrial, and Illinois law automatically reduces most sentences by 50% for good conduct. As a result, he will serve no additional time behind bars for the brutal attack on public transit.
This case is so particularly striking because of its extremity. Not the extremity of the crime—such things are all too common. But rather the response of the criminal justice system, which has been trending this way for years.

Man who nearly beat Chicago train passenger to death walks free with no prison time: report | Sarah Rumpf-Whitten, Fox News
A man accused of nearly beating another passenger to death aboard a Chicago train will not spend any time in prison, according to local reports.
According to CWBChicago, citing court records, 45-year-old Jesus Ramirez will not serve any prison time after he allegedly beat up a passenger on a CTA Pink Line train on April 10, 2024.
…
According to police, Ramirez allegedly approached the CTA passenger and punched the victim in the face. They said he then continued to punch and kick the victim in the face and body.
The department said Ramirez and the 37-year-old victim did not know each other when they crossed paths. Authorities said the pair exchanged words and the situation turned physical.
The escalation and attack were caught on surveillance video and the Chicago Police Department released photos of the suspect, later identified as Ramirez.
According to CWBChicago, the victim spent about a week in a coma and roughly two months hospitalized with a scattered brain bleed, traumatic brain injury, broken ribs, a temporal bone fracture, ear damage, and a fractured nasal bone.
During an early court appearance, Judge Ankur Srivastava said Ramirez “nearly beat [the] victim to death on the CTA.”
He pled guilty. The event was caught on camera. He almost murdered the guy and permanently disabled him.
And he got zero jail time for doing so. None. Zip. Nada. He put a man in the hospital for months. And got zero punishment for it.
Sure, he was SENTENCED to two years (already an outrageous sentence for such a brutal crime), but since he had been on an ankle monitor (otherwise free) while awaiting trial, he got credit for one year, and since Illinois law automatically slashes sentences by half, he was released into the public upon conviction.
Huh? What?
The prosecutor’s office, which is famously leftist already, had asked for 3 years, which under these circumstances would at least have jailed him for six months in addition to the credited time on the ankle monitor, but the judge couldn’t even tolerate that much punishment.
No doubt his criminal record will, in time, be sealed, and the whole thing will be as if nothing had happened.
There’s almost no question the man will offend again, and everybody knows it.
A CPD report described Ramirez’s tattoos as including images of a dead Jesus and a dead Virgin Mary, two skeletons in a coffin, “girl kissing Dia de los Muertos man on neck,” a pentagram on his hand, a Pink Floyd logo, and a depiction of a dissected woman on his lower left arm.
Ramirez was initially detained in the Cook County Jail on the charges, but Judge Tyria Walton released him on an ankle monitor about three months later. By the time he pleaded guilty to aggravated battery on Monday, he had accrued 581 days of credit—more than enough to offset the prison time Walton handed down, according to court records. He had no criminal record in Cook County before being arrested in the CTA attack.
Is it any wonder that our society is splitting at the seams? We have an elite that has designed this system, justifies it based on some bizarre explanation that this makes us a kinder society, and even tries to eliminate law enforcement entirely, and half the country votes for this and hates us for opposing it.

The goal is for the oppressed to do unto the “oppressors.” Kill the Kulaks. Behead the defenders of the ancien régime. This is the French Revolution, the communist revolutions of the 20th century, and all revolutionary movements, and as with all of them, it is justified by the promise of a utopia built on the “warmth of collectivism.”
