The Folly Of Christians Expecting A ‘Ramadan Peace’

This year, the Islamic month of Ramadan began on March 10.

It runs until sundown on April 10.

Against the backdrop of Israel’s ongoing Swords of Iron military operation against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, a month that even in less tumultuous years often sees an accelerated pace of jihad attacks globally, this year’s Ramadan likely will be the occasion for even more renewed calls for attacks against Jews in Gaza, Judea, Samaria, the rest of Israel, and the United States (U.S.) homeland as well.

Indeed, U.S. imams already have begun calling for the killing of Jews on a genocidal scale, observed our friend, former CIA operator Clare M. Lopez in her must-read article for Front Page Magazine quoted above.

And Ms. Lopez is not alone in her analysis. Intelligence officials warned in January 2024 that Hezbollah may be plotting terror attacks inside the American homeland this year.*

Also in January, noted Ms. Lopez, a group of former senior FBI officials sent a letter to congressional leaders warning of a “new and imminent danger.”

That danger, they wrote, arises from the ongoing mass invasion of military-age men from all over the world, among whom surely are not only Chinese Jungle Tigers but also Islamic terrorists seeking vengeance against Jews and for U.S. support of Israel.

Muslim fighters — whether Iran’s own IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps), Quds Force, or proxy jihadis from HAMAS, Hizballah, or Houthis — could be flown on Iran’s Mahan Air from Iran to Venezuela.

Then from there, they could head north through the Darien Gap that lies between Colombia and Panama, and then on up to and across the U.S. southern border.

As Ms. Lopez explained, combined with other hostile military forces already certainly here, to include Chinese Jungle Tigers and Hezbollah cadres, these forces are likely forming cells, conducting pre-attack casing, surveillance, and training, and getting ready to launch combined attacks inside the homeland later in 2024, or should the U.S. do anything to upset Iran’s mullahs.

And the Muslim month of Ramadan would be a prime timeframe for an attack on the American homeland, especially as Israel ramps up its campaign to destroy Iran’s Hamas proxies in Gaza.

However, the depth of ignorance among Westerners–religious leaders, politicians, journalists–about #Ramadan is staggering observed The Occidental Jihadist (@Occidentaljihad) in a post to Elon Musk’s X platform. Historically the month of “fasting” has also been a time of #jihad. Please, folks, educate yourselves before posting mindless anodyne boilerplate about #Islam, wrote the Ohio State Middle East history PhD,101st ABN vet and former SOCOM analyst.

Max Abraham, international security expert, shared similar thoughts in his own post to X, “The absolute stupidest annual conversation is during Ramadan when each year Israel’s enemies call it the month of jihad and increase their terrorism while the West debates whether it’s okay for it to use military force in defense during such a holy time.”

And Ramadan also holds an important place in what we call “civilization jihad.”

It seems wherever Muslims settle, imposing their Ramadan restrictions on non-Muslims has become the new norm, explained Amy Mek in an article for the RAIR Foundation USA

When non-Muslims do not comply with their demands or change their policies and grant Muslims special privileges, violence likely ensues.

Television host Bill Maher seems correct, observed Ms. Mek, when he famously compared Islam to the Mafia during a debate on HBO, “Islam is the only religion that acts like the Mafia, that will f*cking kill you if you say the wrong thing, draw the wrong picture, or write the wrong book.”

Perhaps Maher should consider adding to his list of things that can get you killed: “eating the wrong food, drinking the wrong drink, or doing so at the wrong time or season.”

Yet, so-called Christian leaders (and even a few Jews who should definitely know better by now) persist in the George W. Bush folly that “Islam is a religion of peace” and that through “interfaith dialogue” some kind of mutual understanding might be achieved.

In a recent op-ed for The Hill, Robert Satloff quoted his Washington Institute colleague Patrick Clawson’s 2004 article documenting how naive non-Muslim governments have been disappointed when they appealed to their Muslim foes for ceasefires during Ramadan: “Modern proposals for Ramadan ceasefires by secular governments — such as the Soviets in Afghanistan and Saddam Hussein when fighting the Islamic Republic of Iran — were uniformly rejected by the Islamist side, which usually intensified fighting during Ramadan.”

“They’re observing Ramadan in the service of a false God and a false gospel, and we shouldn’t be trying to express our solidarity with that,” wrote Douglas Wilson, senior pastor, Christ Church, Moscow, Idaho, and senior fellow of theology, New St. Andrews College, in response to a question from Christianity Today. Nor should we expect any peace during Ramadan, when history and Muslim tradition so clearly show us the folly of such an expectation.
