Memphis police said they arrested and charged a woman Monday after she uploaded photos of her five-year-old daughter waxing women’s genitalia on social media.
Authorities said they took Jasmine Ross, 30, into custody on child neglect and abuse charges in connection to the Instagram posts that showed a girl applying wax to women’s nether regions.
The posts allegedly came from Ms. Ross’ personal account, which she uses to help promote her business Jazzy Body LLC. The company’s bio on Instagram said it offers “full body waxing,” among other beautification services.
“When I say I’m passing down Deeds & LLCs to my creations I mean that!” reads the viral photo caption tied to Ms. Ross.
The caption goes on to say the girl helped Ms. Ross wax 24 clients over eight hours last week.
“She made a total of $744 and I’m going to put that money towards whatever her future dreams and aspirations are,” the caption reads.
Police said the suspect runs the business out of her home.
Ms. Ross posted bail after arraignment on Wednesday. She is due back in court on March 20.
