A 43-year-old man and 25-year-old woman were found dead Monday at the Moxy Boston Downtown hotel after apparently being gunned down.
The Boston Police Department was called to the scene at 12:22 p.m. after the bodies were found by a hotel employee on the 13th floor, Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden, said according to The Boston Globe. A firearm was recovered at the scene.
The identities of the pair have not been disclosed publicly.
When asked if foul play was suspected in the deaths, Mr. Hayden said that it was “way too early to comment,” according to the Boston Herald.
Guests were surprised the sounds of gunshots were not reported.
“This is insane. I mean, there is no soundproofing in those rooms either. … I listen to the people next to me who watch movies all night,” guest Samantha Poorman, visiting from Michigan, told Boston NBC affiliate WBTS.
The incident remains under investigation.
