D.C. police on Wednesday said a gunman shot three officers and the suspect has since remained holed up in a residence in Southeast.
Authorities said the officers suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the shooting that occurred around 8 a.m. in the 5000 block of Hanna Place Southeast.
A source familiar with the ongoing incident said the three officers were shot in the ankle, leg and hand.
What led up to the shooting is still uncertain, the source said.
The suspect remains barricaded inside the home where shots were first fired.
