Police in Florida said a man walked a mile Wednesday to seek help at a friend’s house after he was shot in the head during an argument.
Holly Hill police said they arrested and charged Christopher Hastings, 33, with attempted murder in connection to the shooting that left the 44-year-old wounded.
Authorities said the victim, who wasn’t named, was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
Police said the shooting took place around 2:40 a.m. Wednesday when Mr. Hastings and the victim argued over a woman.
The victim’s friend, who wasn’t identified, told Daytona Beach NBC affiliate WESH of being awoken after hearing a knock at the door.
“His head, his face … shot in the back of the head and then the face,” the victim’s friend said.
Police said Mr. Hastings was taken into custody less than 10 minutes after authorities were contacted by the victim’s friend.
The suspect was scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
