Fire breaks out near Lincoln Memorial

A kiosk near the Lincoln Memorial burst into flames Thursday, injuring one.

D.C. Fire and health authorities responded to the fire in front of the District of Columbia landmark at around 7 a.m.

Authorities said one person was flown via helicopter to a nearby trauma center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Photos of the fire appeared on social media showing authorities trying to put out the large flame. They extinguished it by 8 a.m.

Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire. They did say a propane tank was involved.
