Guests had to climb down from the Disneyland resort monorail by ladder after two trains got stuck.
About 60 people had to be evacuated from the monorail, but no injuries were reported in the Thursday evening mishap.
The two trains first got stuck after the monorail’s elevated track lost power, a Disneyland spokesperson told KTLA-TV.
A passenger aboard the monorail who did not provide their name told KTLA-TV that the trains first stalled near the entrance to the Disneyland park at about 3:30 p.m., and that the people aboard were stranded for hours.
Disneyland officials have not said what caused the power outage for the system, which uses a 600-volt direct current power source.
The resort’s monorail system, about 2.5 miles long, first opened in 1959 and was the first system of its kind in the United States. Trains arrive at the resort’s two stations about once every 10 minutes.
