D.C. police, feds nab 15 tied to drug-dealing crew in Northeast

Police arrested 15 people in Northeast this week as part of a crackdown on a violent crew dealing fentanyl and cocaine in the District.

Metropolitan Police on Thursday said the department was joined by agents from the FBI and the Drug Enforcement Administration to nab suspects running their narcotics enterprise in the Carver Langston neighborhood.

The multi-agency sweep Wednesday — which included over 300 MPD, FBI and DEA officers — followed a months-long investigation that began in September.

Federal prosecutors in the District said police seized nearly two dozen guns during the operation.

“This is just the latest example of the diligent work the men and women of the Metropolitan Police Department are putting in around the clock to hold those who are preying on our communities accountable,” Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela Smith said in a news release. “The results of this painstaking investigation by our detectives will bring immediate relief to the neighborhoods that these suspects were operating in.”
