An early morning fire in Baltimore City Tuesday killed an 8-year-old boy, hospitalized a 13-year-old girl and a 22-year-old man, and displaced 19 others from their residences.
The fire broke out at 2 a.m. in the 3400 block of East Lombard Street in southeast Baltimore, the city’s fire department spokesman Kevin Cartwright told reporters at the scene.
The fire engulfed a two-story rowhouse. Firefighters found the three victims unconscious on the second floor, Mr. Cartwright said, and they were taken to the hospital following initial care from paramedics.
The fire also spread to two adjacent buildings, causing minimal damage, he said. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
