Barron Trump, the president’s youngest son, contacted police in London after witnessing a woman allegedly assaulted last January by a former boyfriend, a court has heard.
The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, told a court in the British capital on Wednesday that Mr. Trump, her friend, saved her life after she managed to call him during the attack.
The call’s transcript was shown during the trial of Matvei Rumiantsev, a Russian citizen, at Snaresbrook Crown Court, according to reports.
After the then-18-year-old son of the president answered the video call and saw Mr. Rumiantsev repeatedly punch his friend, he reportedly contacted emergency operators, prompting U.K. police to respond to the scene.
“I’m calling from the U.S.,” he told the emergency operator on Jan. 18, 2025, according to the transcript with emergency operators. “I just got a call from a girl I know. She’s getting beaten up.
“This was happening about eight minutes ago. I just figured out how to, how to call someone. It’s really an emergency.”
When police arrived, the woman called Mr. Trump, who explained to them that he had seen the attack when she called him.
“I just saw a ceiling and could hear screaming. I could see a guy’s head on the phone, and then the camera turns to her crying and getting hit,” Mr. Trump was heard over the phone telling officials, according to bodycam footage.
On Wednesday, the woman told the court that Mr. Trump stopped her ex-boyfriend from killing her.
“He helped save my life. That call was like a sign from God at that moment,” she said.
The woman, whom Mr. Trump said he met through social media, reportedly said that her former partner, 22, was jealous of their friendship.
She told police that she had been raped twice by Mr. Rumiantsev, the court heard.
Mr. Rumiantsev is accused of two counts of rape, assault, actual bodily harm, intentional strangulation and perverting the course of justice. He denies all charges.
The trial remains ongoing.
