Tim Walz Is Amateur Welfare Fraud Hour Compared to Gruesome Newsom – HotAir

It seems there is finally one thing hard-pressed Californians can agree on – Gavin Newsom is the all-time king of welfare benefit fraud. And aren’t they shaking their little bleached blonde surfer heads in bemusement that frumpy, dumpy Tim Walz is being raked over the public coals for what amounts to a piddling pile in comparison with Newsom’s government gleanings.

Gubernatorial candidate Steve Hilton had an anecdote from a business owner about a newly hired Afghan employee in Sacramento. It seems that this fellow was more than willing to work for the guy, but had a small request – could he please be paid in cash, as having a regularly processed paycheck – with all its deductions and government reporting – would screw up his rather lucrative government benefits.

…He exposes an Afghan shuttle driver in Sacramento who insisted on being paid cash so he wouldn’t lose his $7,000-a-month welfare haul. $84,000 a year.

Social Services even told him they’d personally deliver his groceries because “Americans are racist.”

“What’re ever we are seeing in Minnesota, you can be sure it’s much worse in California. I think the probable number in California is one hundred billion dollars.”

“Today, I am calling for a full audit of every single part of California’s bloated welfare state to root out the fraud and corruption.”

Well, hold on there – surely that’s bogus, right? No one makes that kind of cha-ching on the dole…do they?

Looking at what the Somalis have been pulling off, you now have to say, well, maybe they do.

Independent California journalist Kevin Dalton understands Minnesotans’ outrage at the fraud being revealed. Why, he says, just in the one scheme where the Somalis lifted $250M? If Minnesotans had to pay them back themselves, it would work out to about $175 a taxpayer. That’s outrageous and, like he says, ‘Who’s got that kind of money?’

So imagine, Dalton says, if anyone cared enough to tote up what Gavin Newsom has blown through in his eight years, and see what that end figure amounted to.

Luckily for us, unluckily for him, Dalton can add, and he says it’s fifty billion dollars.

California State Representative Carl DeMaio is confirming $30B of Newsom’s illegal giveaways in his little video. And he’s resigned to the fact that the national news, for the little bits they’re covering Walz’s chicken feed numbers, can’t be bothered to look into any of Newsom’s exponentially more egregious scandals at all.

I covered the $30B he’s talking about in this instance, in a post almost exactly a year ago, after reading this tweet from Chef Andrew Gruel.

… They explained (in summary) that California has a budget shortfall, and the federal government wants money back that it lent California for UI that it “lost.” They are making up for it by having business owners pay it. Keep in mind that it was around 10% of our total payroll. When people say, “Why isn’t California business-friendly?” remember this.

Dalton also talks about this in his video. Newsom borrowed money from the feds – $20B – to cover the unemployment fund shortfall caused by handing the previous funds out willy-nilly, and then tried to default on the federal loan. It didn’t work.

So the government of CA is tapping business owners to repay the federal loan for the state.

As far as fighting homelessness goes, there’s a potful of billions blown there, too – sorry, Walzman -but there are, at last, a set of eyeballs laser focused on the twenty-four billion dollars that disappeared into that Newsom black hole.

Central District US Attorney Bill Essayli is on the hunt, calling the oleaginous and formerly bulletproof governor out by name.

SQUEEE!!!

…“Gavin Newsom has made little progress on homelessness and provided little meaningful oversight of those receiving public funds. We’re looking at everyone. If you steal money or allow it to be stolen, we will find you and we will prosecute you.”

And he meant it.

Federal prosecutors just charged two Los Angeles developers in two separate fraud schemes tied to taxpayer money that was supposed to fix homelessness.

• Cody Holmes, a Beverly Hills developer, allegedly used fake financial documents to secure funding for a Thousand Oaks homeless housing project. The project never happened. Prosecutors say he used the money to pay off credit cards.

• Steven Taylor, a Brentwood real estate flipper, is accused of conning a lender by pretending he would renovate a Cheviot Hills senior housing complex. In reality, he had already arranged to flip it to a homeless housing developer. He bought it for $11.2 million. The developer bought it for $27.3 million. Taxpayer funded.

So here is the truth in plain English:

Gavin Newsom drained $24 billion from the taxpayers, including me, and Democrats funneled it straight into a fraud machine they built under the banner of “homelessness.”

Nothing about this was an accident.

I was also today years old when I learned about a Sacramento-based charter school system – Highlands Community Charter and Technical Schools – ostensibly dedicated to…well. How about I let them tell you.

We are a diverse community for social justice, serving the underserved, providing access to education, technology, communication, and employment

Woke enough mission statement?

Well, it turns out the entire school board either resigned or was removed back in July.

Sounds drastic, huh? Audits have a way of doing that to people.

One hundred and eighty million dollars went POOF! Not a soul could answer where any of it went, although there were some nice gifts and luxury vacations on expense accounts.

The entire board of directors overseeing Highlands Community Charter and Technical Schools in Sacramento has either resigned or been removed following a scathing report from the California State Auditor, reports Moneywise.

The June 24 audit found the adult charter school improperly received more than $180 million in education funding. Investigators also uncovered what they described as “questionable financial transactions” and conflicts of interest, including unlawful gifts, luxury travel and the hiring of unqualified individuals.

The resignations and removals came in the weeks after the audit’s release. The findings raise serious concerns about oversight and accountability within the state’s charter school system, prompting calls for reform.

Can you imagine? The audit results ‘raised serious concerns.

Do. Tell.

Here it is, almost six months later, and the schools are only ‘one step closer to closing’ while protestors hold signs about serving immigrants at county commission meetings.

A Sacramento-based charter school that sparked calls for reform after a state audit found it misspent $180 million in K-12 funding is one step closer to closing.

The Twin Rivers Unified school board voted Tuesday to hold a public hearing on Dec. 2 on whether it should close Highlands Community Charter and Technical Schools. The board will make a decision in January.

The charter school opened in 2014 to help adult students earn a diploma, improve English language skills, or learn a trade. Over the next decade, it grew to more than 50 campuses and added the California Innovation Career Academy, which offers independent study. At its peak, it had a budget of $195 million a year.

On Tuesday night, the boardroom was filled with Highlands students, teachers and supporters, some holding signs reading “stand for second chances” and “stand for immigrants.” During the public comment period, some speakers asked the district trustees to overlook the transgressions of the charter’s former leadership and to give its new leaders a chance to make needed changes.

You’ve got to be kidding me. Anyone in jail yet?

Nope. They’re working on correcting the issues. Like the semi-pro ballfield the schools had leased, which is always essential to English as a Second Language learners.

Baseball can be very, very good to you.

…Jonathan Raymond, Highlands Community Charter executive director, told EdSource on Wednesday that some of the violations mentioned at the meeting had already been resolved and evidence of the corrections submitted to the district, including the termination of a lease for a semi-professional ball field in Marysville.

He disagrees with the board’s decision to start the clock to close the school, saying charter leaders are working on a material revision of its charter that will be considered by the district in January.

That’s a single California charter school focused on ‘immigrants’ and the ‘underserved,’ and look at the money.

One school.

. All for an adult school supposedly teaching English to Afghan & Ukrainian refugees.

HOLY CRAP

As this angry fellow says (with some NSFW language), it’s a racket, and they’re not even hiding it anymore.

Weep away, Tampon Tim.

You’ve never had that kind of magic.
