There are no words for these scumbags. That includes Elissa Slotkin this weekend, insinuating National Guardsmen would indiscriminately shoot Americans.
Local television reports are saying a bystander was hit alongside the Guardsmen.
Multiple people were shot two blocks north of the White House just before 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, News4 has learned.
At least three people were injured by gunshots at 17th Street and I Street NW, right next to Farragut Square Park, a law enforcement source told News4.
The scene is now secured and a shooting suspect is in custody, the Metropolitan Police Department said on social media just before 3 p.m.
One of the people injured was taken to a hospital via med-evac helicopter. The other two were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Two of the victims were National Guardsmen, the Associated Press reports. A law enforcement source tells News4 at least one of the guard members was shot in an exchange of gunfire.
The area is being shut down while law enforcement investigates.
Mayor Muriel Bowser isn’t giving any updates just yet, other than the police department releasing that they do have a suspect in custody and they are ‘actively monitoring the situation.’

Two guard soldiers were shot near the White House and their conditions aren’t immediately known, according to two law enforcement officials not authorized to discuss the matter publicly and who spoke to AP on condition of anonymity.
Emergency vehicles were seen responding to the area and at least one helicopter landed on the National Mall.

One kid’s been airlifted to the hospital, and the other two victims were transported by ambulance. Oh, the picture is so frightening.

They’ve purportedly got a shot of the wounded suspect being loaded into an ambulance after being taken into Metropolitan Police custody.
I hope they dropped him a couple times before they finally shoved him up there.

Two National Guard members have been shot in Washington, D.C., with the shooter in custody.
The two members are in critical condition, the Associated Press reported.
The shooting took place at 17th and I streets NW, near Farragut Square, with police advising people to avoid the area, close to the Farragut North Metro station, about two blocks from the White House.
