Scott Jennings Refuses to Let Jasmine Crockett Get Away with ‘Malicious Smear’ of Charlie Kirk on CNN

Reactions from various Democrats regarding Charlie Kirk’s assassination have left us asking questions about what has gotten into these people. Have they succumbed to demonic possession? Or can something else explain their ugly behavior?

During CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday with host Dana Bash, Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett of Texas became yet another prominent liberal to fuel her party’s lunatic base by repeating the grotesque slander that Kirk “specifically targeted people of color.”

In an interview later, CNN conservative commentator Scott Jennings called out Crockett’s “malicious smear.”

Here’s Crockett speaking to Bash:

“She’s lying,” Jennings told Bash in a clip posted to the social media platform X. “I mean, Charlie Kirk targeted nobody. He was not racist in any way.”

Jennings adamantly defended the slain Turning Point USA founder.

“I’ve listened to hours and hours and hours and hours of Charlie Kirk debates and talks. And have been with Charlie Kirk, and did events with Charlie Kirk, and knew Charlie Kirk,” he said.

“There wasn’t a racist bone in his body. To say that he was continuously targeting people of color is nothing but a malicious smear on the very day that people are remembering Charlie and he’s going to be laid to rest.”

Are you a fan of Scott Jennings?

Jennings then referred to a recent House resolution honoring Kirk’s life and legacy. Fifty-eight bitter Democrats, including Crockett and Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, voted against the resolution.

“So,” the conservative commentator continued, “I think when you combine the ‘no’ votes on the resolution, and then you look at the leading Democratic voices like Ilhan Omar and Jasmine Crockett who’ve gone out to smear Charlie before he’s even had his funeral, when I hear people say, ‘We need to come together, and both sides need to turn down the rhetoric,’ you know, a lot of the people saying that need to look inward right now.”

Jennings concluded by admitting that he was “a little stunned” though hardly “shocked” by Crockett’s slander.

For the first time, perhaps, one may take issue with Jennings on a material point.

In the post accompanying the video above, the conservative commentator referred to “a hateful few” who engaged in “race baiting” and the posthumous “slander” of Kirk.

The number of Democrats who openly celebrated Kirk’s assassination, however, goes well beyond “a hateful few.”

Likewise, prominent Democrats have repeated Crockett’s “malicious smear” or something like it. That list includes former President Barack Obama and Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York.

Indeed, on the Democratic side, one would more accurately characterize those slanderers as the “hateful many.”

Of course, one must try to explain many Democrats’ abhorrent behavior in the wake of Kirk’s assassination.

Put simply, it comes down to Kirk’s Christianity.

True Christians will always fight for justice, but we would never deliberately lie about those whom we oppose. Nor — Heaven forbid — would we celebrate their deaths.

We believe that every individual life has value and that repentance always remains possible. It would lacerate our consciences to treat our opponents as less than human. To a Christian, the ends never justify the means.

Enemies of Christianity, however, particularly those who have embraced Marxist ideology, celebrate their opponents’ deaths because Marxists gleefully sacrifice the individual to the collective. To a Marxist, an individual life has no value on its own, and the ends always justify the means.

In short, Jennings was right to call out Crockett’s “malicious smear,” but he was also too kind.

After all, Crockett and her ilk have no intention of looking inward — because Kirk’s loss means nothing to them.
