During these dark hours after the death of Charlie Kirk, Americans need to “have faith” in the Lord and “be bold,” Vice President JD Vance said Monday while hosting a special episode of “The Charlie Kirk Show.”
“On a podcast a couple of months back, Charlie was asked about how he’d want to be remembered if he died. His answer: ‘I want to be remembered for courage, for my faith. That would be the most important thing. The most important thing is my faith.’ And that was Charlie,” Vance said. “And in this dark moment for our country, I think that’s the greatest lesson any of us can take from Charlie. To have faith.”
The vice president then explained that the best way to honor Kirk’s legacy is “to be bold in our pursuits,” as Kirk was in life.
“We’re going to pay tribute to his courageous legacy and we’re going to commit to keep it forever alive,” Vance added.
An emotional Vance also spoke of how Kirk has influenced him to be better husband and father. “That is the way that I’m going to honor my friend: is to be the very best at that most important job that I can be.”
During the podcast, Vance asked members of the Trump administration to recall their memories of Kirk and share the impact his death has had on them.
White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller reported that he felt both sadness and anger.
“Unfocused anger or blind rage is not a productive emotion. But focused anger, righteous anger, directed for a just cause, is one of the most important agents of change in human history,” Miller explained.
“And we are going to channel all of the anger that we have over the organized campaign that led to this assassination to uproot and dismantle these terrorist networks.”
Miller promised the Trump administration would conduct a severe crackdown operation on all the groups that have cultivated a terror culture and promoted political violence.
“And with God as my witness, we are going to use every resource we have at the Department of Justice, Homeland Security, and throughout this government, to identify, disrupt, dismantle, and destroy these networks. And make America safe again for the American people. It will happen, and we will do it in Charlie’s name.”
