Former President Donald Trump is not a fan of artificial intelligence, calling it the “most dangerous thing out there.”
In an interview with Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo that was published Friday and will air Sunday, the former president also revealed he’s not into the idea of a potential central bank digital currency.
“Very dangerous. It’s very dangerous. One day you don’t have any money in your account,” he said. “It can be a very dangerous thing. And the other thing that I think is maybe the most dangerous thing out there of anything, because there’s no real solution — the AI as they call it. It is so scary.”
He added, “I saw somebody ripping me off the other day where they had me making a speech about their product. I said I’ll never endorse that product, you can’t even tell the difference. It looks like I’m actually endorsing it.”
He said, “something has to be done about this, and it has to be done fast.” He expressed concerns about AI in terms of national security and how AI can distort almost anything.
“They can change things around and nobody can tell the difference. Even experts can’t tell the difference,” he said. “This is a tremendous problem in terms of security. This is a problem that they better get working on right now.”
Last week a robocall that sounded like President Biden called New Hampshire residents and told them not to vote. Experts say it was AI that copied the president’s voice and spread the false message.
