Federal Employees Plan Hunger Strike for Gaza Over Biden’s Support of Israel – HotAir

The Feds United for Peace protesters have popped up again. They are participating in a hunger strike to protest the Biden administration’s support of Israel in the Israel-Hamas war.

It is only a one-day hunger strike so my question is, how serious are these people? C’mon. One day? People fast for a day all the time, whether for religious reasons or medical reasons, and no one writes a press release about it. A multi-day hunger strike is a hunger strike. Hold out for a week or more for your cause, then we’re talking. These are not serious people. They have glommed on to the progressive left’s cause du jour, wishing death to Jews and the destruction of Israel, and have sided with Hamas.

What makes this publicity particularly obnoxious is the fact that it is being done by government employees. These are the malcontents receiving paychecks from American taxpayers as they work in the White House and various departments. Members of Feds United for Peace expect over two dozen government agencies to participate in a day of fasting Thursday. Employees in the Department of Defense and the State Department, as well as the Department of Homeland Security are expected to join in.

The Feds United for Peace may sound familiar. They are government employee malcontents, including White House employees, who planned a walk-out, a day to strike, to voice their opposition to Biden’s support of Israel. That day was planned earlier this month but was cancelled when winter weather proved to be an obstacle.

On Thursday, hunger strike day, the participants are planning to dress as though they are cosplaying Palestinians. Gotta dress the part, right?

The officials participating will show up at work either dressed in black or wearing ‘keffiyeh scarves or other symbols of Palestinian solidarity.’

They said they are protesting ‘starvation as a weapon of war by intentionally withholding food from entering Gaza,’ where more than 26,000 people, mostly civilians, have been killed since the war began, according to the Health Ministry in the Hamas-ruled territory.

The activist federal employees say their goal is to force a conversation in their offices. They claim many federal employees support a ceasefire but are scared of speaking out for fear of retribution.

Joe Biden is beholden to the far left. In this election year, he is too spineless to take control of the White House and federal agencies to demand professional behavior from staff, not political activism. The inmates are running the asylum. I have never seen an administration is such a shape as this Biden administration. Can you imagine what would have happened if White House staff and other federal employees had planned to walk out of the Trump White House to protest foreign policy? No, you can’t because it never would have happened. There was no question as to who was in charge.

There are protests in the streets across America. Pro-Hamas protesters interrupt speeches by Biden and other politicians as they demand a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war.

The protests lay bare the tensions Biden is facing within his own party as he struggles with the fallout from his handling of the war while honoring the First Amendment rights of his critics to speak out. Biden’s ability to navigate those crosscurrents will be critical to his reelection effort as he tries to energize Democrats this fall, especially young people who are particularly concerned about the war’s effects.

Biden is feckless. He is physically feeble and mentally unable to do his job. That is for everyone to see and that includes our enemies in the world. The world is on fire and a large part of the blame falls to Biden’s weakness.

Democrats are unhappy with Biden’s performance since the Israel-Hamas war began. Biden is focused on being re-elected in November.

Democratic voters in New Hampshire’s primary on Tuesday were roughly split on how Biden has handled the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, according to AP VoteCast. Just 4 in 10 of those who disapproved of how Biden has managed the conflict voted for him. But among those who approve of Biden’s leadership in the Middle East, nearly 8 in 10 voted for him.

The White House malcontents and other federal employees should be dusting off their resumes and looking for employment elsewhere if they can’t do their jobs instead of making political demands of the president, their boss. They should resign and go work somewhere else.
