The Metropolitan Police Department apprehended a man Wednesday they say opened fire on another driver in a road rage incident in May.
MPD said in a release that Marcus Reavenell, 47, of D.C.’s Southeast area and the unnamed victim were driving at the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Division Avenue in Northeast on the morning of May 14. Mr. Reavenell, police said, tried to use a turn lane to pass, then cut off the victim to go straight.
MPD alleges that Mr. Reavenell followed the victim after not being let into the lane, then opened fire at the intersection of 58th Street and Foote Street in Northeast. The victim, whose car was damaged, was unhurt.
Police arrested Mr. Reavenell in Maryland. He is charged with assault using a gun.
