A Texas man was arrested and charged with making threats against ICE agents after making social media posts in which he told followers to “shoot them and kill them” and vowed “no mercy for the Gestapo.”
Robert Wilson King also called Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem “Nazi scum,” called for Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene to be “shot by a firing squad” and said he wished Texas Gov. Greg Abbott “literally burns alive.”
According to an FBI agent presenting social media posts to the court, Mr. King made these posts via social media accounts under the name “Die Trump.”
Many of the posts echoed talking points from left-wing activists about deportations and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Homeland Security agency responsible for immigration arrests inside the U.S.
Mr. King seemed to acknowledge and even embrace the fact that he was crossing lines, authorities said.
“Some of my friends have noted that my rhetoric is growing increasingly more violent. Yes,” he posted in a Facebook account under the name “Rob Gutierrez.”
The Washington Times has reached out to Mr. King’s lawyer for comment.
Someone who knows Mr. King personally appears to have flagged his social media posts for authorities, according to court documents from FBI Special Agent Brant Doddy, who specializes in terrorism cases.
The person identified as “Individual #1” told agents he confronted Mr. King about the ICE threat specifically.
“Individual #1 reported that King confirmed not only that he had made the post, but that he was serious about his willingness to kill ICE agents, and that he had no remorse for doing so,” the agent said.
The tipster also said Mr. King was now living out of his vehicle and no longer had a residence.
In one post reproduced in court filings, Mr. King’s Facebook account under the name “Rob King” said: “If I see ICE agents in my neighborhood I’m opening fire. It’s time to stop being p******1 and put the Second Amendment to work. ICE are not real cops, they are a secret police force with no real legal authority. Kill them.”
The agent redacted the word in the filing to the court.
The post was later blocked from public view and the name on the account was changed to “Rob Gutierrez.”
The Facebook account linked to an Instagram account where the FBI says Mr. King compared ICE to “the Gestapo” and said to “shoot them and kill them.”
“And if I find out anyone from family I cut off is stalking my page or someone is feeding information about what I post to, well, anyone, I will find you and there will be hell to pay,” he posted.
