Biden and his pro-Hamas Democrat allies have a new strategy for thwarting Israel’s campaign to eliminate our mutual enemy in Gaza – send American troops as part of a U.N. buffer force to ensure the Israelis do not finish off the Muslim terrorists.
In a rational world the United States government would be actively supporting the Israeli campaign, because next to Israel, Americans and America have suffered more Hamas attacks than any other Western State.
But the Democrats’ approach to Israel and radical Islamism has never been driven by a rational assessment of American interests, rather, it is driven by the logic of a Democratic Party that depends upon jihadi votes to win states such as Michigan and Minnesota and has been so thoroughly penetrated by Islamists that enemies of America are actually in the government making national security and diplomatic decisions for the Biden administration.
How would this international Gaza buffer force work?
According to reporting by Mike Doran (@Doranimated on X) the anti-Israel pro-Hamas Democrats have been actively working to undermine Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government as part of their effort to “internationalize” Gaza.
That the Hamas Democrats want to get rid of Prime Minister Netanyahu is no secret – they’ve made several attempts to bring down the Israeli government when he was in charge, but this time they have a specific list of goals and demands and some allies in Prime Minister Netanyahu’s multi-party “war cabinet.”
Benjamin “Benny” Gantz is an Israeli politician and former army general who is the Democrats’ preferred alternative to Netanyahu and who has been the vehicle for other attempts to undermine previous Netanyahu governments.
What Gantz is advocating here an internationalized Gaza Strip. He is painting Smotrich and Ben Gvir as the impediment to creating a broad US-Arab-European-Palestinian coalition against Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran. This is basically what Tom Friedman, after taking dictation from Antony Blinken, has been flacking. It’s an illusion. A fantasy.
I agree with the description of Netanyahu’s office of where this all leads. I would also add one more point, one that I have said many times before: the Biden administration is not trying to put together an alliance against Iran. It’s trying to reach an accommodation with Iran. It wants to shut down the Gaza war for that purpose.
One of its methods of shutting down the war is working to topple Netanyahu and installing a more pliant Israeli government. For all that Gantz says he will continue the fight to the end, he is building his political platform on the sand castles of the Biden administration’s Iran strategy.
If Gantz succeeds in toppling Netanyahu he won’t get Europeans and Arabs that are willing to put forces in Gaza that will suppress Hamas violently? Why would they ever be willing? So they can risk getting attacked by Iran? If any of them set foot in Gaza — I predict it won’t happen — they will withdraw faster than the US forces withdrew from Lebanon after the Marine barracks bombing.
Nor will the Israelis get, after Gantz resigns, a government that will do a better job at destroying Hamas or standing up to Hezbollah and Iran. The Biden team is against all of those goals. That should be obvious by now. The reasons for Biden’s opposition to those goals has nothing to do with Netanyahu, Smotrich, Ben Gvir, or “settler violence” on the West Bank. It has everything to do with the administration’s intention to go to the election in November with a quiet Middle East, and its desire to achieve that quiet by appeasing Iran and its proxies.
Israel’s parliamentary politics, with its multitude of parties and various religious divisions is pretty opaque to most Americans, but what should be clear as a bell is that anyone trying to draw the United States into being the policeman of Gaza is no friend of the American people.
Mr. Duran is right about the Democrats’ policy of appeasing Iran, but he is missing one other important part of their agenda: winning Michigan and Minnesota where jihadi votes are crucial to Democrat victory in the coming election.
The Capitol Switchboard is (202-224-3121), we urge CHQ readers and friends to call their Representative and Senators – tell them you demand that they oppose any deployment of American troops to Gaza for any purpose… other than destroying Hamas.
