We watched Joe Biden’s speech commemorating the January 6, 2021 “insurrection” so that you wouldn’t have to. Here’s the short version – a speech full of lies that exceeded the usual
quota of lies necessary to get Joe Biden through a political event.
The entire narrative that the January 6, 2021, protest at the U.S. Capitol was an “insurrection” is of course one big lie, but it has been propped up and reinforced by countless smaller lies, for example this one by Joe Biden in his speech, “Jill and I attended the funerals of police officers who died as a result of” January 6th.
“So, they attended ZERO funerals?” observed Tim Young in a post to his X account.
“Who is writing these blatant lies for Joe?” asked General Mike Flynn.
This is so outrageous. There is no way they believe any of this is true; they know none of it is, yet they are allowing this apparently partially demented elderly man to state a lie, concluded General Flynn.
Lying is necessary to support and justify the narrative that January 6, 2021 was an “insurrection” so lies, no matter how obvious and blatant will be spread, and repeated by a compliant establishment media.
Jeffrey A Tucker, @jeffreyatucker, President of the Brownstone Institute posted a commentary on the speech that very much mirrored our take:
I watched the Biden speech from two days ago, and it really did rattle me with the Chernenko vibes there: all problems are due to rebels and dissidents and enemies of the party. It was an almost surreal experience.
Who are these people in the audience? Who brought them there? That opening cheer of “four more years” was overly scripted and canned. The whole thing was weird theater.
The only real moment came at the very very end when his wife tried to get him off stage and he leaned into the mic with some grandpa joke about the real power in the room.
As for the text itself, it was as if real life doesn’t exist. It was 100% about the grave threat of Trump/Hitler and, mostly, the evil of anyone who would support him and not support Biden as the savior of the nation keeping at bay the terrible pestilence of MAGA.
You would get the impression that nothing else matters. Home prices, inflation, crime, migrant crisis, ill health, homelessness, insane debt, mass collapse of education and learning, middle class crushed, unaffordable everything – none of it matters.
As a kid I could never understand how the Soviet Union imagined itself to be a democracy. Now I get it. You need a one-party state in charge to keep the enemies of democracy at bay, and so long as they do, you have preserved democracy.
In essence, the Biden campaign is overtly enemy-izing half the country or maybe two thirds of the country or maybe everyone not in the 1 percent of ruling class overlords. It’s extremely creepy because it seems authentic in some way, as if they really believe their rhetoric.
Any time a politician, especially a Democrat, starts wailing about “our Democracy” your BS detector should sound Red Alert. Yes, even good guys, like the sainted Ronald Reagan, used that formula on occasion – probably at the behest of some junior speech writer – but conservatives recognize that the touchstone of American political culture is constitutional liberty, not “democracy.”
Indeed, America’s founding generation specifically rejected “democracy” in favor of a constitutional republic.
So, you know something anti-democracy is about to be proposed by Democrats, or Republicans are about to be accused of being in favor of limiting the power of the state, when Democrats start whining about threats to “our Democracy.”
Today, we’re here to answer the most important of questions. Is democracy still America’s sacred cause? I mean it.
This is not rhetorical, academic, or hypothetical. Whether democracy is still America’s sacred cause is the most urgent question of our time, and it’s what the 2024 election is all about.
The choice is clear. Donald Trump’s campaign is about him, not America, not you. Donald Trump’s campaign is obsessed with the past, not the future. He’s willing to sacrifice our democracy, put himself in power.
Now, let’s take a look at who is really using the police and surveillance power of the federal government for his own political ends.
As the Trump campaign pointed out in a recent statement on behalf of former President Trump, Joe Biden and Democrats have broadly (and anti-democratically) weaponized government against their political opponents:
Biden is criminalizing political dissent by putting meme-maker Douglass Mackey in prison.
Many J6 defendants were prosecuted, convicted, or pleaded guilty to “parading” which is simply an expression of political dissent.
The Biden Administration has persecuted Catholics and pro-life activists.
They have labeled parents at school board meetings as domestic terrorists.
They have gone after judges who refuse to rewrite the Constitution.
The Biden DOJ is abusing an obstruction-of-justice offense carrying a 20-year prison sentence to criminalize nonviolent protest at the Capitol on January 6th. The obstruction law was enacted after the Enron scandal to prosecute evidence impairment, but Biden is using it to prosecute political demonstrations.
Biden’s DOJ is selectively prosecuting J6 defendants and not Democrat rioters. The rioters from Summer 2020 could be charged with the exact same offenses used on the J6ers and others, but are not. The double standard proves the Biden DOJ has become a political weapon.
Starting in June 2020, a team of 100 anti-Trump partisans met regularly to “war game” the presidential election. In these planning sessions, prominent Democrats organized pro-Biden alternate electors for the Electoral College, pushed blue states to secede from the union, and took other actions that looked a lot like preparations to steal the election in a “clear Trump win” scenario, including the discussion of using the justice system to destroy “Trumpism” after the election.
Joe Biden’s Federal Trade Commission (FTC) targeted Elon Musk by demanding all of his internal communications after he purchased Twitter, committed to making it a free speech social media platform, and restored President Trump’s account.
Joe Biden has forced his primary opponent Congressman Dean Phillips off the Democrat primary ballot in Florida.
Biden and his Department of Justice are committing high level election interference by prosecuting the former President of the United States and his chief political opponent in the 2024 election. In the midst of a presidential campaign, Biden allies reinstated a gag order on President Trump, who is beating Biden in all the polls.
Far from defending “our Democracy” what the Biden Democrats are doing is rushing us headlong toward a one-party state, where the state establishment decides who can appear on the ballot, what opinions may be expressed and how they may be expressed and on what platforms.
Like Jeffrey A. Tucker tweeted: Now I get it. You need a one-party state in charge to keep the enemies of democracy at bay, and so long as they do, you have preserved democracy.
