Hidden camera found in Chino Hills, California, perturbs neighborhood residents

Police are investigating after residents of a Chino Hills, California, neighborhood found a hidden camera, pointed directly at a house, disguised to look like a normal rock.

James Dimapasok, a 15-year resident of the neighborhood in question, lives in the house the camera was pointed at.

“It was a camera that was covered in clay that looked like a rock, so it was very precise. It was on a power bank so it was a cordless camera. I was scared. My wife was crying,”

Mr. Dimapasok told KTLA-TV. Police told him that the camera was transmitting data using nearby cell towers. Footage taken from the camera shows the suspect hiding the camera while wearing gardening gloves before riding away on a scooter.

While he does not know their exact motives, Mr. Dimapasok fears he and his family could have been targeted by burglars.

“I’ve never carried any money bags into the house or anything to that effect. I don’t know why they would think otherwise. My money is in the bank. I’m not stupid, so I have no cash in the house,” Mr. Dimapasok told KABC-TV.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is now investigating the incident.
