Boy Scouts Changes Name to Be More ‘Inclusive’ – HotAir

There aren’t enough transgendered Queer Indigenous Decolonizers joining the Boy Scouts, so the organization has decided to rebrand.

I wonder if they will have a drag queen badge or perhaps one congratulating boys for cutting off their genitals.

It’s hard to know what to say because a generation ago, the Boy Scouts were a refuge for sanity and the promotion of healthy masculinity. However, the long slide into wokeness started many years ago.

The organization has been recruiting girls and LGBTQ+-% for several years now. It went bankrupt after sexual abuse scandals and has decided that the best way to deal with the reputation issues is to recruit a new cohort of kids who might not mind being sexually abused by people with transgender flag pins and huge fake breasts.

I haven’t looked at any market research, but chances seem pretty good that many parents who would otherwise consider sending their kids to the Boy Scouts…I mean Scouting America–might reconsider when the scout master wears a blue-haired wig, sports fake 48DDs, and talks with a pronounced lisp about his pronouns and sexual preferences.

The last and presumably most important “Scout law” is to be reverent toward God, and I doubt that they meant Moloch.

Scout Law

The Scout Law has 12 points. Each is a goal for every Scout. A Scout tries to live up to the Law every day. It is not always easy to do, but a Scout always tries.

A Scout is:

TRUSTWORTHY. Tell the truth and keep promises. People can depend on you.

LOYAL. Show that you care about your family, friends, Scout leaders, school, and country.

HELPFUL. Volunteer to help others without expecting a reward.

FRIENDLY. Be a friend to everyone, even people who are very different from you.

COURTEOUS. Be polite to everyone and always use good manners.

KIND. Treat others as you want to be treated. Never harm or kill any living thing without good reason.

OBEDIENT. Follow the rules of your family, school, and pack. Obey the laws of your community and country.

CHEERFUL. Look for the bright side of life. Cheerfully do tasks that come your way. Try to help others be happy.

THRIFTY. Work to pay your own way. Try not to be wasteful. Use time, food, supplies, and natural resources wisely.

BRAVE. Face difficult situations even when you feel afraid. Do what you think is right despite what others might be doing or saying.

CLEAN. Keep your body and mind fit. Help keep your home and community clean.

REVERENT. Be reverent toward God. Be faithful in your religious duties. Respect the beliefs of others.

This could be called the Disneyfication of the Boy Scouts, doubling down on a strategy that has cost them dearly. The more woke the Boy Scouts became, the more the organization lost out on new recruits.

IRVING, Texas (AP) — The Boy Scouts of America is changing its name for the first time in its 114-year history and will become Scouting America. It’s a significant shift as the organization emerges from bankruptcy following a flood of sexual abuse claims and seeks to focus on inclusion.

The organization steeped in tradition has made seismic changes after decades of turmoil, from finally allowing gay youth to welcoming girls throughout its ranks. With an eye on increasing flagging membership numbers, the Irving, Texas-based organization announced the name change Tuesday at its annual meeting in Florida.

“In the next 100 years we want any youth in America to feel very, very welcome to come into our programs,” Roger Krone, who took over last fall as president and chief executive officer, said in an interview before the announcement.

The organization began allowing gay youth in 2013 and ended a blanket ban on gay adult leaders in 2015. In 2017, it made the historic announcement that girls would be accepted as Cub Scouts as of 2018 and into the flagship Boy Scout program — renamed Scouts BSA — in 2019.

The gradual Queering of the Boy Scouts is, of course, consistent with the overall trend in American society. As our elite has “problemetized” (to use their word) healthy masculinity, we have created a massive divide between the people who lived in the old America of traditional values, belief in God, and healthy families and those who seek a fundamentally changed America in which Queer is the new norm.

As with Bud Light, the Scouts are rejecting their old customer base in search of a new, more elite-friendly one. Chances are good that this will work out for them as well as it did for Bud Light.
