White House admits Biden has made 148 mistakes this year in public remarks

In the interest of accuracy and consistency with White House policies, communications staff have been notably active in revising President Biden‘s public statements, as revealed by a recent analysis of official transcripts.

Since Jan. 1, the president’s spoken words have undergone at least 148 corrections, according to detailed reviews by the Daily Caller of transcripts published by the White House. That’s about nine mistakes, flubs and gaffes coming out of Mr. Biden‘s mouth each week.

The corrections span 118 events, encompassing formal speeches, impromptu statements, and interactions with the press recorded between Jan. 1 and April 24. It was noted that in several instances, the edited remarks in the official transcripts represented a stark contrast to what was initially stated by Mr. Biden.

“It was then, through no — through my American Rescue Plan — which every American [Republican] voted against, I might add — we made the largest investment in public safety ever,” the White House transcript of Mr. Biden‘s State of the Union address in March read.

“I’ve always believed we’ve [they’ve] got it all wrong. America is rising. And we have the best economy in the world, which we do,” stated the White House transcript of Mr. Biden‘s April 17 remarks on his new initiatives to protect U.S. steel in Pittsburgh.

“We must be honest: The threat to democracy must be defended [defeated],” another State of the Union excerpt reads.

The nature of the revisions extends to a wide array of corrections, including but not limited to, proper nouns, dates, and specific terminologies associated with organizations. Furthermore, adjustments have been made to verbs and entire statements, thereby altering the conveyed meanings to better align with official White House positions or factual accuracy.

Corrections also involved the inclusion of words or phrases not originally mentioned by the president but deemed necessary by White House staff for clarification or context.
