For a brief moment this morning, I thought that the Biden administration had finally seen the error of its ways and started deporting illegal migrants. A plane filled with noncitizens departed from Louisiana on Thursday, returning them to their home country. But as it turns out, the passengers were not part of the ongoing Biden border crisis. They were Haitians who had fled the terror regime in their home country and sought refuge in America. The plane stopped briefly in Miami before proceeding to a place that has been described as the most dangerous country in the world at this time. This is yet another example of the American immigration and deportation system being turned completely upside down. (NY Post)
The Biden administration sent its first deportation flight to Haiti in months Thursday — despite the island becoming engulfed in bloodthirsty gang violence that has taken over large parts of the country, according to Border Report.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) flew roughly 50 Haitians back to the Caribbean nation, operating the first deportation flight to Haiti since January 2023, when the flights had been operating on a monthly basis, according to Witness at the Border, which tracks deportation flights.
The plane left Alexandria, Louisiana, a hub for deportation operations, and arrived in Cap-Haitien, Haiti, after a stop in Miami, according to the group.
DHS actually had the nerve to put out a statement saying, “US policy is to return noncitizens who do not establish a legal basis to remain in the United States.” Oh, really? When did that policy go into effect? Because we could show you a list of roughly ten million cases where that wasn’t what happened. Or perhaps I should say we would be able to show you such a list if you knew who all of those people were and where they are now.
I will admit that it’s hard to argue against any deportations given how badly the country is currently being overrun by migrants. Beggars can’t be choosers, after all. But this truly is a glaring example of how backward Joe Biden’s immigration policy is. Asylum is supposed to be reserved for people fleeing legitimate threats of persecution and abuse in their home nations, not people seeking economic opportunity.
If anyone were to currently qualify for such an opportunity, it would likely be the people of Haiti if they can be vetted and shown not to be part of the criminal gangs currently running the country. The people there are living under the brutal rule of a gang leader who goes by the name of “Barbeque” and literally eats the people his thugs murder. There is little to no food available even for the people who still have money to purchase it and the economy has almost entirely collapsed.
And yet, the Haitians are the ones being deported. Meanwhile, we have armies of people from all over the rest of the world being waved into the country or even being flown in if they use Joe Biden’s phone app to make a reservation. These people include massive numbers of single, military-age men from countries including China, Iran, and Russia. I will grant you that living in China or Iran is probably not a picnic if you aren’t viewed as a supporter of the current regimes, but that’s still a very large risk to take if you’re letting them into the United States without proper vetting. When was the last time you heard of any plots against America coming out of Haiti? They can’t even keep their own government afloat, to say nothing of launching attacks on other countries.
Of course, the people fleeing the gangs in Haiti probably made one strategic error when attempting to come to America. If they had all purchased shirts saying “Biden, Please Let Us In and We’ll Vote For You,” they would probably all have apartments in Seattle by now. Sadly, people who don’t look like prospective Democratic voters apparently need to go to the end of the line.
