Police in southern New Jersey arrested a suspect Sunday night after the assailant stabbed one officer in the face and injured another while they were looking into a 911 call that ended abruptly.
Galloway Township police said the officers were investigating the hangup call at a home at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday, when the suspect attacked the officers.
Authorities said the suspect stabbed one officer in the side of his face and gave the other officer a blow to the head.
Both officers were taken to a hospital, where one was being treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Assisting officers were able to take the suspect, who wasn’t identified, into custody.
