FIRST ON THE DAILY SIGNAL — Weak American leaders open the door for global terror, a decorated member of the Israel Defense Forces told the Daily Signal.
“Terrorists pray for weak leaders to control the strongest enforcer of world peace, the United States of America,” Shadi Khalloul, a decorated Aramaic Catholic IDF soldier said. “Those terrorists use the vacancy of the lack of enforcement to exercise their military ambitions while knowing that they would not be held accountable.”
The United States has historically been known for reining in international military terror, such as in Nazi Europe in the 1940s, Afghanistan in the early 2000s, and now Iran and Venezuela in 2026.
Khalloul used the example of former Presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama, who, through loose restrictions and unsupervised foreign aid, allowed dictators like former Ayatollah Ali Khamanei to fund Iranian proxy terror groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah, which led to a full-out ongoing war since Oct. 7, 2023.
Obama was accused by Khalloul of handing over billions of American taxpayer dollars to a regime that falsely promised to dismantle its nuclear program. The Iranian regime instead, Khalloul alleged, turned around and escalated its campaign of terror, by building its nuclear program and fueling affiliates such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in the West Bank and Gaza.
According to Khalloul, however, the campaign of terror financed by the Iranian regime is now being thwarted under President Donald Trump, who since returning to office has been executing intense military operations in a bid to terminate Iran’s nuclear and terroristic ambitions.
“This is the result of strong, decisive leadership, instead of weak leadership from easily gullible political figures,” Khalloul, a former paratrooper and current member of the IDF’s reserve, added.
The war, which started when Hamas fighters slaughtered, raped, and kidnapped more than a thousand Israeli citizens on Oct. 7, has turned into a multinational conflict in the Middle East.
However, the weak leadership of strong nations is not limited to the United States, he added. Members of the European Union, like France and Spain, have refused to cooperate with the United States in its war on terror.
For instance, in March, Paris refused to join allied operations against Iran and denied airspace for U.S. aircraft transferring weapons to Israel, prompting Israel to cancel top-level defense meetings and end defense contracts.
Around the same time, Spain refused to allow the U.S. military to use the nation’s facilities abroad.
Because of the lack of international pressure on the Iranian regime, the major said the war, which was originally fought only by Israel and Hamas, has now expanded to include Lebanon, Iran, and the United States.
Additionally, failure from a majority of House Democrats in recognizing Iran as a state sponsor of terrorism, despite it’s clear funding ties to anti-Western militant groups, has worked against efforts to reign in the rogue regime.
