Eagles linebacker Nolan Smith arrested for speeding 135 mph in Georgia

Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Nolan Smith was arrested on Friday in Georgia after authorities clocked him driving at 135 miles per hour. The Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office reported that Smith was traveling 65 miles over the posted 70 mph speed limit on the interstate. According to officials, the 25-year-old was driving a black 2026 Lamborghini and was observed rapidly changing lanes without signaling while passing other vehicles.

The arrest took place around 11 p.m., and the former Georgia Bulldog was subsequently booked for reckless driving and speeding in excess of maximum limits.

Standing 6 feet, 2 inches and weighing 238 pounds, Smith was taken to a local jail where he remained until making bond and being released approximately one hour later. His vehicle was turned over to a licensed passenger who was present at the time of the stop.

Smith, a former first-round pick who won a Super Bowl with the Eagles in 2025, has a court date scheduled for July. However, he will not be required to appear in person if he pays the fines associated with the incident. This arrest adds to a list of several current and former players from the University of Georgia program who have faced legal issues related to speeding or racing in recent years.
