Comedian Margaret Cho calls for ‘feral, bloodthirsty, violent Democrat’ to punish Trump officials

Comedian Margaret Cho said she wants a “feral, bloodthirsty, violent Democrat” to rise up and “punish” President Trump and his Cabinet, remarks she made while also accusing the administration of deriving pleasure from cruelty toward immigrants, transgender people and the poor.

Ms. Cho made the comments during an episode of The Creative Asylum, a weekly podcast hosted by musician Daniel House, released Tuesday.

“It really irks me that when they use our language against us, like when they were saying, ’Oh, the Democrats are the reason why the government is shut down.’ And when Karoline Leavitt says, ’Well, their cruelty is the point.’ No, that’s you,” Ms. Cho said. “Their kink is cruelty. They love to see the suffering of immigrants and trans people. And they want to put children in concentration camps — and poor people. It gets them off.”

House then suggested that Trump administration officials are driven by unresolved childhood “daddy issues,” to which Ms. Cho agreed, before pivoting to call for Democratic retribution.

“I really do believe that politics is a pendulum and it does swing. And when it swings back, we will punish them. They will be put in prison. We cannot let up,” she said.

She went further: “I want to believe in Democrats. I am a Democrat, but I also feel like there’s this weird attachment to decorum and taking the high road, and none of that is gonna work. We need somebody — a feral, bloodthirsty, violent Democrat. We just need somebody who is willing to put them all in prison — do the right thing and put them all in prison.”

Last month, Ms. Cho accepted the Icon Award at the 14th annual Queerties, held March 10 at the Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles, where she called on the LGBTQ community to “revolt” against the Trump administration and used a slur directed at the president, according to The Wrap.
