That thing that Democrats say never happens has happened again. A Mexican alien received a conviction for repeatedly and illegally voting in U.S. elections.
Jose Ceballos has been through the U.S. justice system before, as he has a 1995 conviction for battery. Apparently, that did not result in his deportation, and he voted illegally in our elections multiple times over the years. But Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis confirmed in an April 22 press release, “This alien has now been convicted of illegally voting in American elections.”
U.S. authorities originally granted Ceballos his green card back in 1990, but despite that 1995 battery conviction, he continued to reside in the United States and did not apply for citizenship until February 2025. Based on the three voter registration forms DHS shared in the press release where Ceballos claimed to be a citizen, he was voting illegally in Kansas. The Kansas attorney general’s office was involved in this case against Ceballos for Disorderly Election Conduct.
After registering to vote several times while claiming to be a citizen, Ceballos then brazenly wrote on his citizenship naturalization application that he had never claimed to be a U.S. citizen. That constituted a felony. DHS noted:
Since April 2025, more than 24,000 cases have been identified by SAVE as potential non-U.S. citizens who were on voter rolls, and those cases have been referred to ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) for further investigation. Over the past year, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has overhauled the SAVE program[.]
Bis emphasized, “The SAVE program is a critical tool for state and local governments to safeguard the integrity of elections across the country. President Trump has been unequivocal: Nothing is more fundamental than the integrity and security of our elections. That’s why the Trump Administration has repeatedly called on Congress to pass the SAVE America Act — commonsense legislation that requires voters to present photo ID and implements other critical measures to protect federal elections from fraud. Our elections belong to American citizens, not foreign citizens.”
Independent journalist Breanna Morello reported that Ceballos secured a plea deal for a fine of $2,000 and only a six-month suspended sentence, however.

This news comes as the Department of Justice continues to investigate and clean voter rolls across the nation. Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon told Fox Business, “I’ve requested the voter rolls from all states and the District of Columbia. About a third of the states have voluntarily complied with us or reached settlements with us, and we’ve run some of those records.”
She is in lawsuits with 29 states and Washington, D.C., however, over “their refusal to give us the voter rolls, to which the attorney general or the acting attorney general is entitled under the Civil Rights Act of 1960.” And so far, just from the rolls they’ve obtained in compliant (i.e., red) states, in the “60 million records that we’ve run, we found at least 350,000 dead people currently on the voter rolls in those jurisdictions. And we’ve referred approximately 25,000 people with no citizenship records to the Homeland Security… the left told us this never happens, and it’s a myth. It definitely happened,” Dhillon stated.
The voter fraud conviction also follows the welcome news that a Virginia circuit court ruled the insanely biased Democrat gerrymandered Congressional map for that state was unconstitutional. Securing our elections from fraud is vitally important.
