After weeks of waiting for Senate Republicans to be proactive, and for congressional Democrats to stop punishing Americans in order to protect illegal alien criminals, President Donald Trump is taking matters into his own hands to pay the hard-working Department of Homeland Security (DHS) employees.
While frontline Border Patrol (BP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers do receive funding through the One Big Beautiful Bill, most other DHS employees do not. But these government workers, unlike the many other government bureaucrats whose firing Democrats mourned, actually do important and necessary work to protect our country. Therefore, Trump is preparing an executive order to pay all DHS employees, in spite of the Democrats.
The president made his announcement as usual on his TruthSocial platform on Thursday. Apparently, he has put enough pressure on John Thune (R-S.D.), who rammed through the backstabbing Senate deal last week at 3 a.m., that the Senate majority leader is finally cooperating. Trump posted, “Thank you to all of our Great Congressional Republicans, House Speaker Mike Johnson, and Senate Leader John Thune, for their work this week. Republicans are UNIFIED, and moving forward on a plan that will reload funding for our FANTASTIC Border Patrol and Immigration Enforcement Officers.”
The Senate deal had excluded funding for Border Patrol and ICE, which triggered outrage and demands for a different deal from House Republicans.
Trump continued, “Because the Democrats are fully and 100% committed to the Radical Left Policy of Open Borders and Zero Immigration Enforcement (which will hopefully cost them dearly in the Midterms!), allowing Murderers and Criminals of all types into our Country, totally unchecked and unvetted, I will soon sign an order to pay ALL of the incredible employees at the Department of Homeland Security.”

The president emphasized how disastrous it has been for DHS employees who cannot pay their bills due to Democrat political theater. “Their families have suffered far too long at the hands of the Extreme Liberal ‘Leaders,’ Cryin’ Chuck Schumer and Hakeem ‘High Tax’ Jeffries.”
Fortunately, there is an alternative. “Nevertheless, help is on the way for our Brave and Patriotic Public Servants who have continued to work hard, and do their part to protect and defend our Country. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” Trump concluded.
DHS includes numerous subsidiaries, among them the U.S. Coast Guard, Customs and Border Protection, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Citizenship and Immigration Services, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The impact of the partial government shutdown is therefore massive, ultimately touching the lives of millions of Americans. Airports in particular have been in chaos, as TSA workers gradually stopped showing up to work without pay. Trump had to deploy ICE to some airports to restore a semblance of order.
But the nightmare is going to end, and sooner than expected, despite Democrats’ shameful behavior.
